Stronghold Falls to Libyan Forces

TRIPOLI, Libya — The head of the Libyan military council said Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi was killed Thursday as fighters battling the vestiges of his fallen regime took control of his hometown of Surt after a prolonged struggle.
